With the arrival of Spring, we’re going to start seeing a lot of ‘for sale’ signs popping up so I figured it would be a great time to whip together a colour scheme that suits my fellow neutral-lovers, as well as anyone looking to neutralize their home for resale. Neutral doesn’t have to be boring – in fact, neutral is now soft off-whites and creamy grays that create a really calming and classic backdrop for your home allowing your furniture and accents to become the focal points.
Lately I’ve begun exploring colours other than my top 15 go-to.
(I can’t do one more colour consult involving Revere Pewter, Cloud White, or Gray Owl. I just cant.)
I encourage all my neutral loving clients to keep their ‘base colour’ soft and airy, and bring a bit of depth into their dining rooms or living rooms as those spaces are generally a more intimate setting that crave warmth.
night stand | headboard | duvet cover | throw pillows | kidney pillow
mini pendant | bench | weave basket | wire mesh basket | throw blanket
rug | stool | wood bowl | silver dishes | eucalyptus bundle
I’ve come to decide that my favourite colour combinations for a bedroom are tones of gray with dusty roses and blushes. Living with Tom, I can’t exactly bring pink tones into our home too easily (boo) so this decor board is really more of a fantasy for me. Based on a photo from House to Home, I love the coastal flair the headboard and reclaimed wood gives off mixed with more mid-century modern elements like the nightstand and cluster of mini pendants. Mixing these two looks combines the world of comfy cozy + ultra modern, and it works. A plush, dark toned rug grounds the room and warm wood accessories mixed with silvers & chromes completes the look.
What do you think of this space?
& now the most snow we’ve had at this time of year in 37 years?!
I’m about ready for sunshine and Spring in Toronto. What about you?
One of my favourite things about my job is coming up with presentation boards. I love spending time going through all my favourite suppliers searching for that perfect piece. We always give our clients 3 options; 3 styles; at 3 different price points.
Something that is always always on every presentation board?
Benches and ottomans.
Because there is always a spot for them.
In your entry way, at the end of a hallway, at the foot of your bed, in an awkward empty corner of your home, benches are the perfect filler. Your home is all about layers, and adding more to complete the look. These are some of my favourites.
Which one is your favourite?
