More & more people are painting their interior doors something other than their classic white trim colour, painting trims in a tone similar to the wall colour, and switching up the traditional trend of Cloud White. I love this because it allows you to add one more additional accent colour to your space, a pop of something bold, or just a bit of interest in an otherwise blank wall. The painted doors are generally a colour that doesn’t come directly from the space, but instead is a new color that compliments the existing decor.
Charcoals and soft grays are especially popular because gray is the new neutral and works in (mostly) any space, but here are some of my favourites from Benjamin Moore!
HC-166 Kendall Charcoal | AF-700 Storm | 2121-20 Steel Wool
Kendall Charcoal is a go-to favourite if you’re looking for a rich charcoal that has a lot of warmth, and will compliment your warm off white & light gray walls. Steel Wool is a great true gray that lacks the beige undertones that Kendall Charcoal has, making it a little bit more industrial and cool.
2058-20 Slate Teal | HC-154 Hale Navy | 2129-40 Normandy
Hale Navy is my favourite blue because it’s a true, deep navy blue with a lot of impact but without being too loud. Mostly used on home exteriors, it’s a beautiful blue for a front door with crisp white trims.
CC-710 Mount Saint Anne | 2139-60 Green Tint | HC-147 Woodlawn Blue
Mount Saint Anne is my perfect smokey blue. Blue is mostly perceived as a cool colour, but I’m a firm believer it can be warm if it has a muted, gray undertone. For a fresh look I also love woodlawn blue which has more of a teal kick.
OC-51 Intense White | AF-680 Wish | 2137-60 Gray Owl
Intense White has become my most recent obsession – in a previous post I mentioned, it is neither intense nor white but is actually a really soft warm greige. It would be a great interior door colour if you’re not looking for loud or impactful, but more just something other than a classic white!
& here are just some beautiful interior doors that I love!
Hope you’re having a great week!
